The Art department at Tamaki College has been very fortunate in having the assistance of the Tautai Trust in organizing Polynesian artists to visit our school in 2008. These weekly visits have focused on the theme of fusion between Polynesian and contemporary global culture. The established artists have delivered presentations to the students that have inspired our predominantly Polynesian student clientele. Special thanks to Christina Jeffery for helping us with this educational program and to the artists who have contributed in such a positive and enthusiastic manner. Hopefully, this relationship with the Tautai Trust and local artists will continue to bring many fruitful benefits for all of those who have been involved.
Here are photographs of 2 of our visiting artists.
The male artist was Filipe Tohi and the woman was Leanne Clayton
